CMRB Event: Asylum & Protection in the Wake of the Coronavirus Pandemic
June 18, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm BST
Refugees and asylum seekers may be especially vulnerable to Covid-19 and
disproportionally affected by the government’s responses to the pandemic.
This public event will address the complex relationship between migration
statuses and Covid-19 with a focus on asylum seekers and refugees in
vulnerable settings.
The event will mark the legacy of the late Mona Mahmood, fierce supporter of
children’s rights and committed advocate to challenge the inhumanity that
destroys lives and tears apart societies. The first part of the event will be a
public discussion and the second part will be dedicated to tributes to Mona,
beloved student in the Master in Conflict, Displacement and Human Security
at the University of East London and co-founder of United against Inhumanity
in the UK.
